Cell phones are everywhere and being used by more and more of the population. The Howard County Sheriff's Department 911 Communications Section is taking a proactive approach to new technology concerning Phase 1 and Phase 2 wireless service. To learn more about what Phase 1 and Phase 2 wireless are and what it means to you, visit the State Treasurer's website that details the State's progress on implementing the phases of 911 wireless service in Indiana. Check with your wireless carrier if you have questions about a GPS wireless phone. A GPS wireless cell phone will allow us to locate you if you call 911. Not all wireless carriers offer this service in Howard County, check with your wireless carrier. For more information you can also visit the FCC's website.
